Notice for all Sri Lankan Nationals in Australia regarding  Australian Visa

Sri Lanka Consulate General in Sydney Mr. M.H.M.N. Bandara sent us the folowing message in relation to the visa extension of Sri Lankans in Australia.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Sydney office briefed for the diplomatic community this morning (18.03.2020) regarding visa extension due to the present situation in COVID-19, the applicants who visited under the temporary visa categories.

If you need to extend your stay due to prevailing situation it is important that relevant individual Sri Lankan, to apply no further stay Waiver Request form 1447 through the Ministry of Home Affairs website.

If there is any visa expired Sri Lankan who received the short-stay visa and who is unable to travel out of Australia due to present situation could get extension on the process.

Also, the applicant who applied temporarily visa generally allows staying in Australia after the current substantive visa application is being processed (Bridging Visa A).
