National People’s Power (NPP) MP Dr. Harini Amarasuriya has been sworn-in as the new Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, this afternoon (24). Sri Lanka’s newly elected President Anura Kumara Dissanayake on Tuesday announced the appointment of Dr Harini Amarasuriya as the new Prime Minister of Sri Lanka
Amarasuriya, a prominent member of the National People’s Power (NPP), is the 16th person to hold the key position in the Sri Lankan government and the third female Prime Minister in the history of Sri Lanka.
Dissanayake, who was elected president in a closely watched election on Saturday, emphasised the need for strong leadership as the country navigates through its ongoing challenges.
As the nation seeks stability and growth, the new leadership aims to unite the country and implement meaningful reforms.
