Sri Lanka's factory cluster climbs to 832

The COVID-19 cluster from Minuwangoda factory cluster surged to 832 after another 124 employees of the factory tested positive for COVID-19 this evening, the Information Department said.

Total number of positive cases detected from the cluster thereby shot up to a staggering 832.

The Department said they were all employees attached to the apparel factory and were under quarantine process.

A total of 729 positive cases were reported on Tuesday alone reporting the highest number of single-day cases. Accordingly, the total number of confirmed postive cases in Sri Lanka surged to 4,252 with 973 active cases.

Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 cases tally began to surge by several hundreds of infections after a 39-year-old woman, employed at a leading apparel factory in Minuwangoda, tested positive for coronavirus on Sunday (04).
